The Challenge
Attract and enable very different target groups like researchers, political authorities or the general public, to explore statistical data about research and research funding in Switzerland.
The Outcome
A flexible CMS system connected via the API (Solr) that takes over changes in the data set in real time and keeps all stories up to date. The stories are represented by a customized waffle diagram. It can display even large differences in numbers correctly and is easy to understand. The user experience is enhanced with an exclusionary menu, an updated branding and an intelligent diagram description.
The Impact
The further development of a very technical and tool-like perception of data towards a narrative presentation method that automatically updates itself led to a change of perspective in scientific communication for all participants.
